Project information
Project description
This project was born from lived experience and daily interaction with refugees who are eager to learn, work, and rebuild their lives but are limited by lack of access to technology. In Kalobeyei Settlement Refugee Camp, many young people finish school with hope but no tools to move forward. A computer, which is common elsewhere, is often unreachable here. This project aims to empower refugee youths through computer skills training from basic to advanced levels. Many refugees have motivation and talent but lack access to computers and structured learning. Through Hope of the Hopeless, we plan to provide digital literacy, office software skills, internet use, online safety, freelancing basics, and remote work preparation. After training, participants will be guided on how to access online job platforms and income opportunities. The goal is to reduce dependency on aid and support refugees to become self-reliant, confident, and economically active using technology.

Dootronics additional notes
We mainly need laptops suitable for training (medium to large size is fine for both basic and advanced levels). Long battery life is important due to occasional power challenges. If available, a few extra devices for trainers would be helpful. Refurbished laptops are perfect to use.
