    Project title: Bridging the Digital Divide and Enhancing Opportunities through Digital Literacy, Computer Access, and Internet Connectivity to the students of Bishop Rogan College Buea, South West Region – Cameroon.

    2. Project Description - Please explain about your project and how you will use the laptops (*):
    This project proposal aims to bridge this divide by equipping students with digital literacy skills, access to computers, and internet connectivity, thereby enhancing their opportunities for personal and professional growth.
    - To provide digital literacy training to students, enabling them to navigate and utilize digital tools effectively.
    -To establish computer laboratory equipped with necessary hardware and software to provide students with access to computers and the internet.
    -To ensure reliable and affordable internet connectivity in the target school.
    -To enhance opportunities for students by empowering them with the necessary digital skills to engage in online learning, job searches, entrepreneurship, and other digital opportunities.

    Activities and Implementation Plan
    -Digital Literacy Training: Develop a comprehensive curriculum for digital literacy training tailored to the needs and skill levels of the target students. The curriculum will cover topics such as basic computer skills, internet navigation, online safety, email usage, and productivity tools. Conduct regular training sessions and one-on-one support to ensure effective learning outcomes.

    -Computer Laboratory: Establish computer laboratory in the target school premise, equipped with laptops computers, printers, and necessary software. Ensure the laboratory is accessible, safe, and user-friendly. Train staff or volunteers to provide technical assistance and support to students using the computer laboratory
    .
    -Internet Connectivity: Collaborate with local internet service providers and relevant stakeholders to ensure reliable and affordable internet connectivity in the school. Explore options such as setting up school Wi-Fi networks, negotiating reduced rates, or seeking funding for subsidized internet access.

    Training the teachers who will in turn teach the students.
    Experts from higher institutes of technology will be hired to train the teachers, equipping them to teach the students on Information technology.

    Maintenance of the laptops
    With a secured room set aside as a computer laboratory with iron doors and solid roofs, the laptops will be secured as they will be kept in the laboratory and a team will be put in place for technical assistance to always ensure proper maintenance of the laptops.
