    Project description
    Shamba la
Shela school serves the underserved children of our community in Lamu by providing subsidized education to the marginalized children. Shamba la Shela School is under Pamoja Initiative, a community-based organization focusing on education, sports and climate action located in Lamu, Kenya. Shamba la Shela school is keen in providing quality, inclusive, and affordable education to children from underserved backgrounds. Our mission is to bridge the educational divide by combining foundational learning with digital literacy and creative exploration.
We are seeking laptop donations to establish a Digital Learning Hub within the school. These laptops will be used to introduce and enhance digital knowledge among students, starting from early grades. Our goal is to equip learners with essential 21st-century skills such as computer literacy, coding basics, online research, and
digital creativity (e.g., writing, music, and art using digital tools).
Currently, many of our students have never interacted with a computer, putting them at a significant disadvantage in today's digital world. Access to laptops will help level the playing field and promote education equality, allowing our students to compete and collaborate with peers globally. The laptops will be used in a structured digital curriculum integrated into our regular learning schedule. They will also support teacher training, content creation, and communication with partner institutions. Ultimately, this initiative aims to empower the next generation with tools for innovation, critical thinking, and global citizenship.
