    Project description
Builders of Future Africa (BFA) is committed to establishing a community library in the Lemanyata ward of Arumeru district, Tanzania. Our goal is to create a learning hub and a safe space for the 460 underprivileged children and youths in the community, fostering education, character development, and talent cultivation.
    Goals:
    1. Enhance Educational Opportunities: Provide access to books, digital resources, and ICT facilities to improve academic performance and literacy rates.
    2. Empower Girls and Women: Educate and protect girls from unethical behaviors and early pregnancies, and support teen mothers in returning to school.
    3. Promote STEM/ICT Education: Foster interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among 168 boys and girls.
    4. Develop Life Skills: Offer programs in storytelling, cinema, and soft skills training to cultivate essential life skills and character development.
Use of Laptops: The laptops provided by Labdoo will be integral to our ICT programs, which include:
    • Computer literacy classes for children and youths.
    • Online research and educational resources.
    • STEM/ICT workshops and activities.
    • Digital storytelling and e-learning sessions.
    • Administrative tasks and program management.
    Teachers and Pupils:
    • We currently have 8 volunteer educators dedicated to this project, with plans to recruit more as the project expands.
    • The project aims to serve 460 pupils initially, with the potential to reach more as community involvement grows.
    Teacher Training Plan:
    • Our educators will undergo ICT training workshops led by experienced volunteers and local IT professionals.
    • We will partner with educational organizations to provide continuous professional development.
    • Regular training sessions will ensure that our teachers are equipped with the latest educational technologies and teaching methods.
    Maintenance of Laptops:
    • A dedicated IT team will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the laptops.
    • We will establish a Community Library Committee to oversee the responsible use of the equipment.
    • Regular maintenance checks and a troubleshooting protocol will be in place to address any technical issues promptly.
    • We will seek partnerships with local businesses for technical support and spare parts.
