    Project description
Support to elementary school children of returnee families in the entity of Republika Srpska 2024

Every parent wants to give their child an opportunity for education. Primary school is legally mandatory and represents the foundation of further education. Although education is free (and local authorities provide transportation subsidies for students), it is necessary to provide school equipment and books. Therefore, every beginning of the school year represents a new challenge for parents throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is even more difficult for returnee families. They are faced with a higher level of unemployment and a more difficult social and economic situation. Children often walk and take buses for miles to get a basic education. According to estimates, on average textbooks for one school year in the Republika Srpska entity cost over 200.00 KM (EUR 100), not taking into account that books from the Federation of BiH entity are used for certain subjects, which are more expensive according to all indicators.
Through this project we aim to contribute to a sustainable return to Republika Srpska through support for elementary school students and support their education:
    • Provide textbooks and school materials to elementary school children.
    • Provide scholarships to elementary school children.
    • Provide IT equipment to elementary school children.
