Project information
Project description
The schools IT department lacks severely equipment and children only learn the theory part of the lessons. There is no electricity available and no funds to implement any. Umi Foundation, which is about 7 kilometers away from the school welcomes children also from Twatasha primary school to utilize the equipment within its library. The donation would be of great help to the school’s IT department to enable children to put into practice what they learn.
We suggest the following:
Learning method 1: Umi provides a mobile educational team, taking laptops etc. twice a week to the school and enable students there to learn with the equipment.
Learning method 2: we invite three times a week a number of the students from the school to our
premises in Meanwood Ndeke to study there in the library and the teaching room with the
equipment.
In the meanwhile, we are applying for funds at another foundation, to enable us to build a safe, lockable and weather proven library at the school premises, where we then will put the equipment we are asking for including the books we have raised from BookAid.
We want to start now with the computer-based learnings. The biggest goal is to use education to break the poverty circle.
