2014-07-07 (krchow): Deleted hard drive using Ubuntu Shred feature (wrote two times over); difficulty installing Ubuntu 14.04, decided to use Ubuntu 10.04 but laptop froze partway, currently no OS on this laptop, suggest trying ubuntu 10.04 again, otherwise may need to replace hard drive; charger and laptop itself are in good physical condition.
