Project description
Shine was founded in 1990 and has grown to become a leading New Zealand specialist domestic violence service provider. Shine provides a range of effective, practical and innovative services to achieve our mission to stop domestic abuse in New Zealand. We directly help thousands of adult and child victims every year to become safe and stay safe through our frontline services, and we indirectly help thousands more every year through professional training programmes, our DVFREE workplace programme, and our health sector partnerships.

A huge thank you for your incredible donation of four ipads to help support victims of domestic violence
Our thought is that they would be great assets at our two refuges in Auckland, for not only our staff, but also that a couple could be made available to our clients who have fled violent relationships with very little. The ipads will give them the ability to keep in contact with friends and family, access to support networks, search for alternative accommodation, update CVs, apply for jobs, etc – which would be absolutely amazing
It is only with the commitment from people like you and Labdoo New Zealand, that we can continue to work on reversing the shameful domestic violence record that this country has with the Police responding to a domestic abuse incident every 4 minutes and over 90,000 children exposed to domestic violence every year. Your gift today means we can continue to practically support women escaping abusive relationships. It means we can help more victims of domestic violence to get safe and more importantly, stay safe.
