Project information
Project description
Al Andalus Tech & Arts Training Center
In Andalusia there is a lot of unemployment among the youth as well as among the refugees arriving there from African countries. We are seeing a huge opportunity to
tap into their potential and provide them with professional (e.g. digital) skills to empower them to be a more active part of the society, while also providing a sense of
purpose and dignity. We have already been providing arts and ecology related activities to these youths. And now we are setting up an education training center in Orgiva in South of Spain, aimed at empowering refugees and youth of diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds with arts, technology and digital skills. We will be offering programming classes, digital
media classes, design thinking classes, digital marketing, and more. We have a training room in Kutubia and are now looking into sourcing hardware and equipment, primarily laptops for the UX & computer programming classes. Additionally we also need camera equipment for the photography and video editing classes. On the longer term (end of 2022 / beginning of 2023), we are planning to move to our new training center in La Fonda.
