I will bring the laptop to a volunteer in Berlin, Germany. I have cleaned storage and installed the Ubuntu mate.
I tried to follow the sanitation documentation as closely as possible: https://platform.labdoo.org/de/content/sanitation-guide-step-step-installation-method
    See technical notes below.
    Technical notes
Hard disk has been wiped using the shred command.
Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS (focal, Ubuntu mate) has been installed and upgraded.
    Password is "labdooadmin".

    Libreoffice has been installed.

Secure boot has been disabled, BIOS supervisor password has been removed (used to be "labdooadmin").
Use F2 to enter BIOS. Use F12 to enter boot menu.

    WiFi works.
Touchpad switched to "basic" touchpad mode (PS2) in BIOS. If touchpad does not work, try to enable touchpad with keys Fn + F7.

    Issues:

Setting the host name to labdoo_000034380 did not work due to "illegal" underscore character
I tried to set in /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts later, but the terminal still displays labdoo000034380 without underscore,
    so I set both variations, labdoo000034380 and labdoo_000034380 for 127.0.1.1 in /etc/hosts.

edubuntu-desktop is not installed, as it could not be found by apt-get.

Ubuntu mate reports a "System program problem" after startup, which seems not to be critical (used to have the same message on another laptop, a Thinkpad, every day without problems).
