Project description
Young Agro-Green Africa Network (YAGANET), a registered social enterprise that works to create a platform that gives a second chance to out of school enterprising young girls and boys who were unable to obtain formal education to access basic education and trainings in technology. Because of inability and limited space to adapt to new technologies, 62% out of school girl’s/boys’ small businesses cannot thrive, we break these barriers through grassroots based non-formal innovation trainings, we have conducted a number of practical ICT and Tech-Boot-Camps benefiting over 200 youth and women owning survival small enterprises. Since our interventions, currently 43 girls and boys owned enterprises can now use social media platforms (digital marketing) to source for customers and hence a positive development.
Because of this shift among small businesses owned by young girls and boys, there is high demand for our grassroots ICT and Tech-Boot-Camps services but unfortunately our computer capacity is limited. We cannot recruit new beneficiaries since we are lacking capacity to give computers and other ICT tools at the end of the training.
We are positive that if at least 10 laptops and 10 tablets are provided, they will be of great help to our training site, at least 10 laptops will be accommodating around 2 participants during the boot camp, meaning we shall be able to have 20 youth entrepreneurs per session. We are sure that we shall achieve our vision of seeing every girl/boys’ owned climate resilient enterprises thrive and sustain growth through the use of improved technology around their businesses.
