    Self-help Group for Cerebral Palsy, Nepal (SGCP) is a non-government, non-profit organization for the prevention and rehabilitation cp cases established in 1986. It has grown and developed gradually over the years. It has five on-gong programme's at work. We deal with the varieties of cerebral palsy cases and their parents. They are mostly spastic, dystonic, dyskinetic and ataxic cerebral palsy with associated handicap. Our approach is holistic and home based. We help the parents to be more independent in the process of rehabilitation of their children which, of course, a long term one. Our programmes are running in donations, most of them are from individual donors. The head office located at Lalitpur district in Kathmandu. Where Jaiver had already visited.

    Our on-going programmes are:
    · Special Education Programme(SEP) (CENTER based): No. children 45
    staff SEP: Teachers, Helper (few of them are parents of cp children)
    · Rehabilitation Center (Center based): Children with parents 5-8 children per day.
    Staff: Medical Doctor, PT, Speech therapist, Psychologist:
    · Home visit programme (Field based): Home visitor (community worker) visits homes of CP children. visits 3/4 children in homes per day. They cover 30 cases per months. They also visit day care centers in schedule. 5 Home visitor involved for Kathmandu Valley. (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur)
    · Out Reach Programme (Field Based): 17 districts of Nepal out of Kathmandu Valley. One home visitor appointed for each district. and covers 30 children per month.
    · Day care Center(DCC) (center based): 8 care center in Kathmandu valley with the initiation of parents fully support from our organization. Each care center consists around 8-12 children. There are 14 DCC running in 10 districts.
    · Residential Programme (center Based): 8 children with parents stay in residential. There the parents get a month training along with all intervention from SGCP facilities. Most of the children are referred from working districts.
    · Awareness Programme ; awareness in community about cerebral Palsy.
    · Care for carers: it is advocacy and empowering the parent/ carer of the children with cp.
