    Project description
School Education in United Territorial Community of Lyman, Donetsk region, Ukraine.
The Lyman United Territorial Community includes the city of Lyman and 39 surrouding villages. The community's territory was under Russian occupation from May to October 2022 and was severely affected by the fighting. Most of the educational institutions were destroyed and the rest were damaged. To secure the constitutional right for access to education for the remaining children in the area, the Department of Education of Lyman opened 10 educational and counseling centers in the community, which are attended by 386 students. Classes are held in half-destroyed schools, and some of them have organized education in their own homes, where the rooms have turned into a real school classroom. There is a lack of computer equipment to provide quality education as it was either destroyed by fighting or looted by the Russian army before they retreated.
