BINHI English Literacy Foundation

Our organization, Binhi English Literacy Foundation, Inc. (BINHI), founded in 2008, with its
vision “to make every Filipino child in school and learning well”, is actively creating solutions
by providing English learning support to children in marginalized areas and public elementary
schools through the use of its English learning kits inspired by proven teaching methodologies
and training volunteer teachers to implement its programs. For this school year, we have
recently accepted a total of 364 BINHI Scholars in 9 partner schools and 13 classes.
Since the start of the pandemic, we shifted from face-to-face teaching methods to ClassHome
kits designed to help students without the need of internet connection. We provide OTGs with
all the lessons already uploaded accompanied by daily activity sheets that students must
accomplish and submit. To ensure that each child's progress is monitored, we also conduct
weekly review sessions through Google Meet facilitated by teachers we trained for the
program. However, since most students don't have their own gadgets, only around half of our
scholars are able to attend the sessions since the start of BINHI Classes last November 8.
Here at BINHI, we recognize the importance of early monitoring and evaluation so we can
guide all the learners based on their needs. That is why we launched our Gadget Donation
Drive campaign.
