Project information
Project description
Magooli Children’s Education Center is a nonprofit school providing excellent educational support to orphans and vulnerable children from the local communities of Namayingo District.. It is the only nonprofit school in the district dedicated to providing quality education to orphans and vulnerable children. Our goal is to empower children through education, giving them a foundation for a brighter future. The school is located in a rural community and where access to computers is a great challenge. The donation of computers, projector and tablets from Labdoo organization will greatly help the teachers to introduce computer lessons to children.

Project Goals and Use of Laptops
Our primary goal is to introduce computer literacy to our children, who come from rural communities where access to technology is extremely limited. Currently, many of our students reach secondary school without ever having used a computer, which puts them at a significant disadvantage when learning IT-related subjects.
With the 50 laptops and a projector, we aim to:
1. Integrate basic computer skills into our curriculum, ensuring students gain hands-on experience with digital tools.
2. Train teachers to incorporate digital resources into their lessons, improving overall education quality.
3. Enhance learning opportunities by using digital content for subjects such as mathematics, science, and language learning.
4. Prepare students for secondary education and future job opportunities in a technology-driven world.
Teacher Training Plan
To ensure effective use of the laptops, we plan to:
Work with volunteers and IT professionals to conduct teacher training workshops on basic computer skills and digital learning integration Partner with local educators and organizations to offer continuous mentorship and support.
Utilize open-source educational software to help teachers integrate technology into different subjects.
Laptop Maintenance Plan
To maintain the laptops and ensure their longevity:
We have a dedicated team of teachers responsible for managing and securing the laptops.
The devices will be stored in a safe and monitored environment to prevent damage or theft.
We will work with local IT technicians for routine servicing and troubleshooting.
We will educate students and teachers on proper laptop care and responsible usage.
