Project description
Greetings from the Foundation for Rural Progress Uganda Team. We are writing to introduce ourselves as the Youth and Women Empowerment team for the Foundation for Rural Progress Uganda organisation, a newly-formed non-profit organisation incorporated by the Uganda Registration Service Bureau under the Registration number 80034251860214. Our mission is to promote inclusive rural development through youth and women empowerment, climate action, and improving access to quality healthcare services in rural Uganda. As part of our youth and women empowerment programs, we are establishing a digital innovation hub to equip rural youth with digital skills, bridging the structural unemployment gap caused by digital skills mismatch in the job market.
Our digital innovation skilling hub aims to benefit 250 youth in the rural areas of Bunyoro sub-region, Western Uganda, by the end of 2028, and 500 youth by the end of 2030, with skills in graphics design, video editing, SEO writing, social media management, and software and web development. This initiative aligns with Uganda's National Development Plan IV (NDPIV), which focuses on skills development and support for youth-led businesses. We believe that digital skills are essential for youth to access better job opportunities and contribute to the country's development.
We are reaching out to request a donation of 10 unused laptops to support our digital innovation hub operation’s efficiency. Your contribution will play a significant role in empowering rural youth with digital skills, enhancing their employability, and promoting inclusive development. We would be grateful for your support and assure you that your donation will be remembered as a vital part of our foundation's history.
