Labdoo users interact with the platform through their personal accounts. If you haven’t created one yet and would like to join the Labdoo Project to help bring education to children around the world, simply visit the registration page and fill out the form.

Once you're registered and logged in, you’ll be able to do things like tag laptops, register new trips (called dootrips), communicate with other labdooers, and post messages on team walls. What you can do depends on your user role. Here’s a breakdown of the different roles and their permissions:

User Roles and Permissions

  • Anonymous User
    Visitors who browse Labdoo.org without logging in.
    Can do: View public data (dootronics, dootrips, schools, hubs). Cannot create or edit anything, or view user profiles.
  • Authenticated User
    The default role after registration.
    Can do: Everything an anonymous user can, plus:
    • Tag dootronics
    • Register dootrips
    • Join teams
    • Post messages and tasks to team walls
  • Hub Manager
    Manages a local hub of volunteers.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Edit hub info
    • Assign hub managers
    • Upload hub photos
    • Create and manage edoovillages
    • Set up automatic notifications for the hub
  • Edoovillage Manager
    Manages schools receiving dootronics.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Create and edit edoovillages
    • Assign editors
    • Upload photos to edoovillage albums
  • Newsletter Manager
    Manages Labdoo newsletters.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Create, edit, and publish newsletters
  • Wiki Writer
    Contributes to Labdoo’s documentation.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Create and edit wiki pages
    • Publish or unpublish content
  • Team Manager
    Oversees Labdoo teams.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Create and manage teams
    • Manage team members and roles
  • Superhub Manager
    Supports larger regions with multiple hubs.
    Can do: Everything an authenticated user can, plus:
    • Create new hubs
    • Edit superhub and regional pages
    • Assign user roles
    • Edit any laptop entry
