About this hub
The Kakuma Refugee Camp Labdoo Hub is managed by Community Action for Safety and Equality (CASE), a refugee-led organization created by youth in Kakuma. Our hub is dedicated to collecting, sanitizing, and redistributing used laptops to support education for refugee children and the host community in Turkana West, Kenya.
In Kakuma, thousands of young people face barriers to quality education, especially access to technology. At the same time, many organizations dispose of used laptops that could still serve students in schools and community learning spaces. The hub bridges this gap by mobilizing unused laptops, preparing them for reuse, and delivering them to students and schools that need them most.
Our team consists of trained refugee youth committed to digital inclusion, education, and community empowerment. By working with Labdoo’s global network, we aim to:
- Provide equal access to digital learning for refugee and host-community students.
- Promote sustainability by reusing and recycling laptops.
- Strengthen partnerships with NGOs, schools, and stakeholders in Kakuma to ensure laptops reach those with the greatest need.
This hub represents hope and opportunity for young people in Kakuma and the surrounding host community. Through collaboration with Labdoo and local partners, we are building pathways for education, skills development, and a brighter future.
